Post one

If you are reading this, you know that I am attempting to write a realistic war story. The problem is, I don't know which war to write about. The wars I am thinking about writing are about either World war 2, Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan. I want it to be telling about what went on over in one of those war but it will be appropriate for ages ten and up. How to do that and not include cussing, I don't know but I am still thinking. I would like some ideas on what to write about.

  1. Maybe you should do one an each war! A collection! A family who has a member that has participated in every war and you tell his or her story. I think if you up the age level (say to 13 - like PG-13) then you wouldn't have to worry SO much about the gore, death, and swearing (though you should still think of keeping that to a minimum).

  2. You could do a little research and write a short story about the war in a teenager's life over in Vietnam or Afghanistan. Tell the story through his or her eyes.
